I mean, there are plenty of games where you can dress up to play as another character and they can do a lot more than just have the clothes on. It was just pretty rare.
Even though the game was never marketed, it was a pretty big deal for the game’s creators. To be fair, it was even more rare back then. Back then, games were seen as the most important thing, and the most important thing, other than getting laid, was making sure the game was good. So we’re seeing a lot of that kind of creativity in the latest Deathloop game, and the gameplay itself is quite innovative.
While this game is definitely a piece of pure art, it is also quite violent, and very unsettling. It is a prime example of the type of game that would be released in the 1970s, and it is easy for me to see how the game was meant to be a reflection of a society that was very oppressive, and a society that was quite brutal in all of its ways.
